CAN-AM LEAGUE TO SHRINK IN 2009

The Atlantic City and the Ottawa teams will not play this coming season. The Can-Am will operate with franchises in
Quebec, Worcester, New Jersey, Sussex, Brockton, and Nashua.

LEAHY HAMILTON PITCHING COACH

Matt Leahy, manager of the NYSL Capitols, is spending the spring as the pitching coach for Hamilton College in upstate New York. Matt will join the NYSL on a full-time basis in June of 2009.

FREEDOM FOR SHAFFER

Nolan Shaffer, RHP, has been signed by the Florence Freedom (FL). He played last summer with the NYSL and  this winter in the AWL.

PIC TO ROX

Kevin Piccirillo, LHP, has been traded by Lincoln (AA) to the Brockton Rox (Can-Am). Kevin played last year in the NYSL,
Golden Baseball League and the Arizona Winter League.

SAVARESE TO LAKE ERIE

Rob Savarese, LHP, has been signed by the Lake Erie Crushers (FL). Savarese played in the Continental League and the NYSL
last year.

BARONE GETS A RING

Arthur Barone, 3B, was a member of the Arizona Winter League’s champion Yuma Scorpions. Barone played in the both the Can-Am League and NYSL last year.

MATOS A CRUSHER

Adam Matos, OF, has been signed by the Lake Erie Crushers (FL). Last year Matos played in the NYSL and the Continental
Baseball League. Matos was a 2008 NYSL All-Star.
